When burnout was released, it was one of the most interesting games as it provided different gameplay features than traditional racing games at the time. A long time has passed and some of the ex-Criterion employees found Three Fields Entertainment which produced another interesting game last year with Dangerous Golf. The game was advertised as Burnout with golf balls and it performed relatively well. However, gamers around the world were probably interested in any successor of Burnout and the studio up until now has been pretty secretive about the developments. Recently, the studio confirmed that Danger Zone, another racing game with similar features of Burnout will be coming to both PC and PlayStation 4 this May which is pretty close.
If you were expecting a full fletched game like Burnout, then you would be disappointed since the upcoming game will focus more on crash and vehicular destruction. On the other hand, if you are a big fan of such elements, then you are more than likely to love the game. CEO of Three Fields Entertainment, Fiona Sperry said, “We are going back to our roots by creating a game in a genre we are truly passionate about. Danger Zone takes what made the Crash Mode featured in 2004’s Burnout 3: Takedown so popular and transforms it into an all-new car-crashing, arcade-style puzzle game. We look forward to engaging those same fans by delivering an entirely new and extremely fun experience.”
We will have to wait small amount of time to figure out if the game will be able to keep up the hype or not. However, given that the game will feature realistic physics in multiple different settings, the game has more than enough in its tank to become another blockbuster experiences.
