Last year, Arrow killed off one of the major characters which was clearly one of the biggest shock of the show so far. However, given that almost all of the seasons of Arrow has managed to kill off at least one of the major characters, it won’t be surprising if the show decides to kill off another character and Arrow showrunner Wendy Mericle recently commented on the matter.
She said, “Chase has been trying to prove to the world and to Oliver that he’s not a hero, he’s a killer, and he’s going to pull out one final, big whamo at the end that’s going to leave Oliver reeling. We might lose some people.”
It was revealed earlier that we’ll see both Katie Cassidy and Katrina Law returning to play their roles as Black Siren and Nyssa Al-Ghul respectively. However, given that Katie Cassidy is set to be a series regular with season 6, it’s is likely that we might see last of Nyssa Al-Ghul with the season finale. As her death won’t be a surprise as the show managed to kill off several bigger villains throughout the show, if you take Mericle’s comment, we might see a major character dying at the end of the season.
As Prometheus is actually planning on showing that Oliver isn’t really a hero, it will be interesting to see if we see a major character death by him to prove that Oliver might move away from being a hero. For example, the first season of the show revealed that the death of Tommy changed Oliver forever as he started to respect his friend’s death since then. Despite these speculations, we won’t for sure if we are losing another character from the show this season before the season finale. If the showrunners decides to kill off one of the characters from the current team, it wouldn’t be so eventful since several members of the current team is certainly expandable.
