It’s old news that Apple is working on three different iPhone models set to be introduced later this year with several mind blowing features. If rumors claiming that users will get design features such as augmented reality as well as wireless charging capabilities with their new iPhones, then Apple is more than likely to sell record number of iPhones this year. Apple seems to be confident about the upcoming models as reports suggest that the company is planning on producing more than 100 million new smartphone this year.
In a recent report, iDigitimes claimed that the total sales for iPhone will reach more approximately 220 to 230 million units for this year’s model. If the company manages to achieve this significant feat, then it will take competition with Samsung to a new level as Samsung is reportedly eyeing to sell an estimated 60 million units for its flagship S8 and S8+ models.
Although several chipmakers including ADI, Broadcom, Cirrus Logic, Cypress, NXP, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, and TI are reportedly preparing for more than 100 million iPhone this year, reports in last several weeks have pointed out that the company is experiencing manufacturing issues caused by several innovative technologies such as in-screen fingerprint scanner. Whatever happens though, iPhone 8 is more than likely to break records as need for a refreshed iPhone model will go higher in case Apple fails to bring new iPhones later this year.
