Over last couple of episodes, Arrow got bit intense as most of the mysteries of season 5 are finally started to be resolved. While last week, audiences learned about the identity of the major villain of this season, Prometheus, the show didn’t reveal the identity of the vigilante of last week’s episode. Since most of the comic based television series is known for revealing identity of weekly villains during the episode, it’s likely that we will see more of the character in the upcoming episodes. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim said about the vigilante, “We know the answer to that. You probably will not get the answer to that in season 5.”
If that’s the case, then the character is more likely to feature in later seasons. Moreover, since we just found out who Prometheus really is, it’s not the best idea to run two story arcs given that there is a lot of unanswered question regarding the motives of main villain in season 5. When last week’s episode revealed the identity, fans were really surprised because the vigilante in comics was driven to revenge after his wife, son, and daughter were killed by a bomb planted by a crime family. With so many unanswered questions though, we are yet to see how the character connects in the show.
Apart from Prometheus, if we take the producer’s words, then the character might be a major villain in the show’s next season. While we don’t know yet who the character is, we can only hope that the show doesn’t make some weird storyline to ruin Season 5’s decent storylines so far. However, since the show will not be airing until March 15, we can only predict what is coming next.
