As Google’s Home Assistant’s capability is growing, more companies are adding support for their devices. Recently, August’s Smart lock has also added the support and now, you can use the assistant to lock doors.
Before adding the feature, August wants to make sure that the system is secured as the August CEO said, “Today users can lock and check the status of their lock using the Google Assistant. We are also working with the Google team to develop a safe and secure way to allow unlocking via Google Assistant.”
The company is expected to add the support later this year and it will see the Smart Assistant joining two other popular system from Apple and Amazon.
Right now, a new August Smart Lock is priced at around $200, while the Connect WiFi Bridge is around $65. In case you want to use it with the Google Home, you will need to add $130 to your budget. However, there’s no official confirmation if we will see added support for Google Assistant on the Android smartphones.
