Over last couple of years, Facebook has borrowed several features of Snapchat as they are trying to provide similar product and services to those of Snapchat after Facebook failed to acquire Snapchat in past. After Instagram introduced stories feature in its app, it got pretty popular as more than 150 million users are currently using the feature on a daily basis. And now, Facebook has integrated another feature that’s native to Snapchat in form of Geostickers.
In a recent announcement in the website, Instagram confirmed the inclusion of feature that allows users to post stickers. With the stickers, users now will have ability to add location, weather and time. Apart from these, users will have different stickers based on context of the situation. According to the company,
“You can add as many stickers as you want, adjust their size and placement and mix and match with other creative tools. Just like the customizable location sticker, people watching your story can tap a geosticker to see the location page. Your story won’t show up on the location page itself.”
While the “Geostickers” are only available for New York and Jakarta at the moment, in the coming days, the company is expected to include more cities in the coming days.
