Facebook from time to time uses different new feature within the network for a small number of users and for the last few days, users have noticed a new design for comment section where the comments are more like a conversation threads. In addition to that, the company is also testing out new commenting options as they have included the support for gif in the section.
If a user wants to post a gif into the comment section, s/he can simply search for an animation from Giphy or Tenor and post it easily. However, the feature isn’t widely available just yet and you might be able to notice the feature in the coming days. Earlier Facebook confirmed TechCrunch by saying, “Everyone loves a good GIF and we know that people want to be able to use them in comments. So we’re about to start testing the ability to add GIFs to comments and we’ll share more when we can, but for now we repeat that this is just a test.”
As it was mentioned by the company, it is simply a test to see how users interact and there is no official words on when you will be able to use the feature. However, as the company decides to go live after a short time period of beta testing, you might get the new feature in coming weeks. We have to wait and see if we get a new comment section which will give us ability to put gifs.
