Although live streaming functionality was on Facebook for a long period of time, up until now users didn’t have Live Streaming capability. However, earlier today, Facebook announced that it’s opening up its live-streaming service to desktop and laptops in addition to smartphones and mobile devices for all its users.
While previously the feature was available to pages for a long period of time, the Company has decided to open up the features for anyone with a Facebook account as users will now be able to simply broadcast using their webcam. With the latest inclusion, the social media giant is clearly trying to improve the quality of broadcast as live video options are embedded directly into Facebook’s News Feed and user profiles. Thus making it easier to post the broadcast as a status and attract a large number of audiences.
