Xiaomi has become relatively successful company in short period as the company provided decent smartphones with affordable price. However, in recent years, other companies are catching up and Xiaomi is currently struggling to keep up the competition. Recently, the company went down to fourth place in the Chinese smartphone market as it was overtaken by companies like Oppo and Vivo. According to a new report by Digitimes, the company will focus more on their premium smartphones in the coming days in order to maintain sales figures.
According to the report, Xiaomi is currently experiencing slow growth in the smartphone business that is likely to continue in the first quarter of this year as the current sales figure falls below expectations.
In order to gain competitiveness, the company is said to be coming up with more mid and high end smartphones in 2017. However, it will be interesting to see if the company actually manages to offer premium smartphones which are different from their current lineup. Recently, the company announced that they will start producing smartphones powered by own Pinecone processor. With some of the best smartphones coming in later date from other companies, it might be a relatively tough time for the Xiaomi despite concentrating on premium devices.
