Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is sure to be a massive hit in the summer given that the Super Bowl trailer was chosen by fans to be the best movie trailer that aired during the game. Now, it seems that the release can’t come sooner as insider sources have claimed that the movie got perfect score in the test screening conducted by the studio. While Marvel’s approach is somewhat different, the report should mean that the fans will enjoy the movie since it’s the first movie from marvel that scored 100 in the test screening.
While it seems a great result, executives and producers will still be cautious as such results can be misleading at times. For example, often times, movies receiving relatively average test scores outperform expectations which is proven time and time again. In 2010, critically acclaimed Black Swan only scored 55 before Natalie Portman won an Oscar for the movie. Despite that, it’s a positive to take since the trailer broke all-time record for Marvel as it became most watched trailer of a Marvel movie.
Given that the first movie was considered to be a massive risk due to relatively unknown comic book characters, results like this indicates that the moviegoers will enjoy the movie overall. Unfortunately, we have to wait for a while since the movie isn’t going to hit theaters until May 5. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to continue the story of the team as Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord while Davve Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel all are set to return to play their characters.
