If you are in the smartphone market and searching for new smartphone that is not going to break the bank, then Google has some good news for you with its next generation Pixel smartphones. While the company is set to give its smartphones some pretty decent upgrades, reports today have revealed that we are going to be treated with more affordable Google Pixel 2 along with the aforementioned upgrade.
According to a source, the company is planning on bringing a budget Pixel phone in the market as well as an improved Pixel 2 handset that is set for upgrades in the chipset and camera department.
However, Google’s premium Pixel 2 will come with a higher price tag despite the disappointing sales performance over last year. Despite that, a cheaper Pixel smartphone has caught our interests as the series has proven to be a solid performer after the Nexus smartphones.
The source also claimed that the Pixel smartphone targeted towards budget consumers is currently going through testing and we are going to hear more from Google in the upcoming days. If rumors are true, then the second generation Pixel phones are going to feature waterproof bodies rather than the current splashproof protection.
If the source is correct, then it is going to be interesting to see if the tech giant is able to stay competitive in the market given that Samsung will come back stronger with the Galaxy S8 release after the Note 7 fiasco last year. Moreover, reports suggests that Apple is planning on bringing major upgrade with this year’s iPhone 8 making the smartphone market competitive than ever to catch on.
